Location:      Musselwhite Mine
Rotation:       2 weeks in, 2 weeks off
Department: Operations


Key Areas of Responsibility:

  • The Logistics Coordinator is responsible for following job procedures and regulations, oversee and optimize material handling activities, organize the laydown areas on site and perform any one or more the following tasks:

    • Track all inventory movement in the laydown areas along with sign off sheets for removing inventory

    • Work with expediter to plan for shipments arriving

    • Identify and assess Project needs and work diligently to respond and solve any problems/issues/concerns in a timely manner

    • Ensure adequate measures are taken to deal with any known hazard that may arise in the course of work under his/her control. Hazards that cannot be eliminated immediately should be reported without delay to higher authority, and personnel are made aware of such hazards and of safety measures to be adopted to minimize them as far as reasonably practicable

    • Ensure policies and contingency systems are in place to ensure materials arrive on time and within budget

    • Create, implement, develop and maintain a "Best Practices" methodology for the overall logistics program

    • Liaise with other departments to ensure sufficient inventory levels and to determine if any financial losses occurred due to quality of material or supply problems 

    • Other such duties as may be assigned

 
General Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ensure full understanding and compliance with company policies and work in accordance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and other local regulatory requirements

  • Have the authority and responsibility to maintain a safe and efficient working environment

  • Fully supports and actively participates in the team safety program based on culture and innovation

  • Ensure that any equipment deemed damaged or unsafe by virtue of a defect, or a machine of which any protection system is inoperative, is not used and communicated to the supervisor

  • Work closely with other crew members to create and maintain a synergy required to accomplish the shift line-up in the cycle

  • Ensure applicable procedures and work standards for all tasks are understood, adhered to and complied at all times for all such work

  • Maintain a high standard of housekeeping in the workplace

  • Utilize all safety systems as specified within the site safety management system



Pre-Employment Qualifications:
Pre-employment drug, alcohol and medical testing
High School Diploma or equivalent
A minimum of 2 years relevant experience
 
Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:
WHMIS
Fall Arrest
Demonstrate organizational skills with strong oral and written communication abilities
Must be able to work with little supervision; must be self-directed
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
